Mariner Moose is the mascot of the Seattle Mariners. Obviously, the Mariners name comes from the prolific nautical and marine culture that surrounds the city. The team was established in 1977 and has been located in Seattle throughout their entire existence, being one of the few teams left in the MLB able to make this boast. The Mariners struggled greatly for their first few seasons in the MLB, and by first few I mean 2 decades. The team’s first winning season came in 1995, led by team superstar Ken Griffey Jr. After the 1995 season, the Mariners took a short hiatus from winning, until 2001 when the team exploded on the MLB scene and won a record high 116 games, tying the 1906 Chicago Cubs. Despite the Mariners successful regular season record, they were unable to make it to the World Series. In fact, the Mariners have never made an appearance in the World Series. On top of that, the Mariners have never won an American League Pennant.
