Hailing from Anaheim, California, the Ducks are members of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). Established in 1993 as the “Mighty Ducks of Anaheim,” the had their beginnings from the popular Disney movie, “The Mighty Ducks.” Disney would later sell the franchise to Henry Samueli and the team would be renamed to the Ducks of Anaheim in 2005. Along with the change of ownership and team name came a huge logo and jersey change for the Ducks. The original team colors and logo were based off of the Disney film and comprised of a jade green, eggplant, and white color scheme that displayed the popular duck goalie mask. After the team was sold in 2005, the colors were changed to black, white and gold with orange pin stripping. The duck goalie mask has also been eliminated. At its inception the team played at Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim, however, the stadium has since been renamed and is now known as the Honda Center. During the team’s short history, they have only won a single Stanley Cup Championship in 2007.
